I’m originally from Indianapolis, IN where I grew up as an outgoing and “slightly” dramatic kid. Proud moments include my first solo in the church choir, my starring role as one of the 5 step-sisters in Cinderella (it was a big cast), and thinking I could dance before there was a tv show about it. My  love of theatre was a gift from my drama teacher, Charlotte Kaufman from Young Actors Theatre, and on  Saturday mornings, I could escape from pretending to be ‘normal’, and find community in a place were pretending WAS normal.

I ran off to Florida for college and pursued a degree in theatre. Always one to be in a hurry, after three years, I graduated with my BA in Theatre with an english lit minor and ran off to work the summer stock circuit. For a few years I ran around the country working wherever they provided lodging, parking, and a chance to perform and found myself in big cities like Quakertown, PA, Rome, GA, and Rock Island, IL. Working on the road was one of the most enjoyable parts of my career. Next came the cruise ships and theme parks part of my career, I spent almost a year on Disney Cruise Lines and was lucky to work at Six Flags New Orleans (formerly Jazzland) before Hurricane Katrina hit in 2005. Interspersed were trips back to Indianapolis to work at my first professional home, American Cabaret Theatre.

In 2007, I moved to Chicago where I stayed (pretty much) for about 4 years. I dabbled a bit in improv and comedy and being a waitress (before it was a musical). It was there that I got my Equity Card and began working through regional theatres. While working at a theatre in Utah, I decided to head to New York to audition for what was then called “The South Park Musical.” Though it was a required ensemble dancers call, I left a note saying “I live in Utah, I KNOW Mormons.” A year and a few months later I got my first callback, and a year after that I went to my first rehearsal for the National Tour of The Book of Mormon. After 5.5 years with the show (including a long break to head out on my Cescapades), I hung up my muu muu after over 2,000 performances of the show that truly did change my life. It brought me to Australia where I met my husband, Scott and where I had my beautiful daughter, Alula Valyntine.

What else is there to know about me? I love to travel, I’ve been to 37 countries and plan to get to 40 by my 40th birthday! Lasagne is the best food in the world, and you can’t change my mind, I own about 50 pairs of glasses, Donavon Frankenreiter is the artist I’ve seen play live the most and I’ve been lucky enough to sing with him a few times too. My “Plan B” career was in experiential marketing and have sampled some of the most random things in the most obscure places - hello bone density scanner in a Walgreens parking lot.  I’m an advanced scuba diver and I’ve gone diving on 6 continents (don’t think I’ll hit my 7th…too cold in Antartica!) My second toe is as long as my pinky finger and my favourite Christmas movie is Coming to America. My family is the most awesome, amazing, loving group of humans I’ve ever met and my mom is my bestie.

Thanks for checking out my page and I look forward to connecting off the innanets!
